The Internet: Nowadays the internet has become an indispensable tool. It helps us in terms of work and leisure. Knowing how to use it correctly is perhaps the most important thing. One of the reasons the internet is so important today is that it can help us communicative more effectively with people from all over the world, which gives us the opportunity to get to know different cultures and languages.

The Activity: “How we use the internet” is an activity with my students from Level II at NUPEL. The main goal by doing this is to have an extra class practice so that they can improve their English skills.

The topic they are going to talk about is the internet. On this post they are going to share with you how they use the internet, how often they use it and whether or not they use the internet to learn English.

Aline, 19

Hi, my name is Aline Beatriz, I'm nineteen years old and I 'm a civil engineering student.  I use the internet every day. I do many things on the internet, mostly of the time I use social networks like Facebook. I also use the internet to study and watch movies. I don't have a favorite website. I do not use the internet to study English directly, but watching movies with subtitles helps me learn it somehow.

Allyson, 27

My name is Allyson Rodrigo. I’m twenty-seven years old. I’m an IT Professional. I always use the internet. I use the internet to study, to work, to watch movies, to play online games, to listen to music and learn English. The internet is very important to me, because I need it to do my work and share files with my family and friends. My favorite websites are YouTube, Animeq, Netflix, telecine play and HBO go. I study English on the internet on wlingua.com website.    

Amanda, 20

Hello, my name is Amanda. I’m twenty years old. I’m a student of engineering at UFERSA. I use the internet every day, I like it so much. Normally, I use the internet to talk with my friends, to go on Facebook and to study too. My favorite website is Facebook. I spend a lot of time on it . But I like to learn English on the internet too. It is very cool.

Hello, my name is Ana Beatriz. I´m fifteen years old. I´m a student of the first year in high school. I use the internet every day. I am often connected on my cell phone. I use the internet to study, listen to music, chat with friends, watch series and movies. My favorite website Is Facebook and YouTube, but on my cell phone, whatsapp is the app that I use more often. I love it. Sometimes I study English on the Internet with my cell phone. The app that I use is called “Duolingo”.

I use the internet to watch videos, movies and series, to study, to listen to music and talk to friends and family. I love YouTube, it is my favorite website. I use the internet to study and practice English too.

Hello, my name is Cibelly Vieira. I am twenty-nine years old. I am a manager and I have my own business, a small children clothing store. I use the internet every day for checking emails, go shopping, and read the news. I use the internet to study for  public contests. I don’t use the internet to study English.

Edson, 19

My name is Edson Morais. I’m nineteen years old. I’m a student. I’m a student of science and technology. I use the internet every day. I use the internet to check on my social networks, to watch series and movies, to listen to music and study. My favorite website is tumblr.com. I only study English in my classroom, so I don’t use the internet for it.

Eliane, 21

I am Eliane Lemos, I’m twenty-one years old. I am an intern student in an oilfield service company in Mossoro. I usually use the internet to work and study. In the afternoon, I use it at work to send e-mails and speak with people from other countries, via lync, when they are working in the company. At night, I always use the internet to study (English and management) and relax. My favorite websites to study are Google, Spell, Scielo, UFERSA and others. To relax, my favorite websites are YouTube, Facebook, Outlook and Globo. I love listening to music and watching soap operas on the internet, but I do not use the internet to play, because I do not like games. I also use the internet to go shopping, to do so I go on the websites Americanas and Casas Bahia.

Hi. My name's Gabriel Guedes. I'm nineteen years old. I'm a student of civil engineering. I use the internet every day. I use the internet to study, to watch videos, movies and to listen to music. I do not have a favorite website, I like everything. I don’t use the internet to study English.

Hi, my name is Hanna Stefanny. I’m eighteen years old. I’m a student. I use the internet every day. I go on Facebook, YouTube and Aliexpress. I use the internet to study, listen to music, to go shopping, to check on my e-mails and watch movies. My favorite website is YouTube. I only use English in the classroom, but sometimes I use the internet to learn the language.

Hi, my name is Lázaro Júnior, I’m 21 years old and I’m a student. I use the internet every day, I often use it to talk to my friends but also do college research, I like to listen to music and watch movies on Netflix or funny videos on YouTube. My favorite websites are Google, YouTube, Netflix and Facebook, I use these websites frequently. Sometimes I study English on the internet on Duolingo app on my smartphone.

 Hello! My name is Lorena Lívia and I am a student. I am fourteen. I use the internet at night and in the afternoon every day. At night, I use the internet to watch series and listen to music, and in the afternoon I study, and check my Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat, and email, all of these on the internet! I like to study English with Duolingo and HelloTalk. They are apps to learn English and other languages. I like both a lot! My favorite website is Netflix, because it´s amazing, you have many options of movies, series and documentaries!

Hi, my name is Marley Karinne and I’m 21. I’m a building technician. I use the internet all the time, every day. I use it to talk, watch videos and movies, to work, go shopping, download songs, check on my social networks, and study. I’m always on shopping and videos websites, I think that these are my favorite ones. And I study English on the internet. I translate texts and songs, but I prefer books and mobile applications.

Hi, my name is Mikelline. I’m twenty-one years old. I’m a student of engineering at UFERSA. I use the internet every day to go on websites, to use web apps, to study and to do some researches, too. My favorite website is Facebook. I study English through web apps, as Duolingo. I also google for information about English.

 My name is Moaciria Lemos. I’m twenty years old and I study at UFERSA. I’m a student. I use the internet at night, but sometimes in the afternoon to access SIGAA, which is an online platform used by all the students in my university. I use the internet to watch movies, read books, listen to music, access websites to download papers and access networks, as Facebook. My favorite website is LeLivros.com, because it is very interesting and you can download several free books. Sometimes I use the internet to study English. I read scientific articles in English and watch videos with subtitle in English.

Hi, my name is Natalia. I am twenty-six years old. I am student of Science and Technology at the UFERSA. I use the Internet every day to study, read news, and watch TV series and movies. My favorite website is Facebook. I study English on the Internet. I really like the app called Duolingo to learn new languages.

Hello, my name is Rachel. I'm twenty years old. I am a student and teacher. I give art classes for children, it is so good, I love my job. I use the internet a lot. I use it every day and sometimes all night too. I use the internet for work, to study, read, listen to music, to buy. Oh, I love to go to on Google to search for random stuff, like animals, travel and curiosities. I do not use Facebook a lot or twitter; social networks in general. But I love playing on my computer as well ... when I have time, of course. My favorite website is Google, I do not go a day without using it. I play online games, so I play with people from all over the world, so sometimes I need to talk in English. This way I learn English.

I sometimes use the Internet, much of the time to study but I also go on Facebook and other social networks. Sometimes I study English on the internet, but much of the time I study on my cell phone on Duolingo.
