Diferenças e semelhanças entre as línguas.

After a few days studying languages, I have noticed quite a few similarities and also some palpable differences among them. So I am going to start explaining these aspects from the two languages that I am studying more often: German and English.

Because both English and German share the same origin, you may find some words that have the same spelling and sometimes even almost the same pronunciation. For each example given the English sentence will come first.  

I am Alison.

Ich bin Alison.

Here the two sentences look very similar in terms of grammatical structure, though the pronunciation of every word is different. If you found this example similar, have a look at this one.

Mein Name ist...

Then you stop to think „Hey, is that easy to learn German?“ Well, for English speakers or for someone who already speak it, learning German will certainly not be a stepping stone, especially if you like learning languages like me. But now look at this example.

But now I want that the whole world can understand me.

Aber jetzt will ich, dass alle Welt mich zu verstehen kann.

So, what do you think now? If we’d translate word by word from German into English it’d be like: But now want I that the whole world me to understand can. Well, it would not be a good thing to listen, right? Yeah, the word order is actually the tricky part of it all. So, English and German may be a little similar in some parts like vocabulary and pronunciation, but when it comes to grammar structure they do not look like the same at all.

Hallo auf Deutsch

Depois de algum tempo (um mês e pouco) estudando alemão estou conseguindo dizer minhas primeiras frases. Deve ter muitos erros de pronunciação, gramática, mas realmente eu não estou me preocupando com isso, pelo contrário estou me divertindo muito com ''o idioma de Hitler' hahaha

Hallo Leute. Wie geht es Ihnen? Ich heisse Alisson Viana, ich bin 19 Jahre alt, ich wohne in RN, in Brasilien, ich studiere Englisch in der Universität und ich studiere auch Spanisch, Deutsch und ein bisschen Russisch zu Hause. Meine Muttersprache ist Portugiesisch und ich habe eine Schwester. Ich wohne mit meine Mutter und mein Vatter. (Por que eu disse que tinha uma irmã? Resposta: Falta do que falar lol)

Okay, ich lerne diesen Sprachen (Portugiesisch, Deutsch, Englisch und Russisch), weil ich denke das sie sind sehr schön, oder? Ich werde besser von Tag zu Tag, die Deutsch Sprechen, aber ich brauche die Praxis mit jemand die Deutschland geboren ist. In meine freizeit ich lernen neuen Sprachen gerne, und ich auch meinen Freunden zu treffen gerne.(Eu estudo português, mas não como segunda língua, claro lol)

Für mich die Deutsch Sprechen und die Englisch Sprechen sind eine alte Liebe, ich meine, seit ich ein Kinder war ich sprechen mit Codes gerne, so dass mich niemand verstehen konten. Abert jetzt will ich das alle Wellt mir zu vertehen kann.

¿Hablas Español?

Primeiro podcast falando em espanhol. Espero que nos próximos eu já tenha melhorado mais. ^.^

¡Hola a todos! ¿Comó están? Bueno, espero que bien. Me llamo Alisson Viana, tengo 19 años y este es el primero podcast hablando en español y quiero hacer este podcast para hablar un poco sobre mis idiomas, lo que hago para estudiarlos y contar también un poco de mi história como estudiante de lenguas. Bueno, yo empecé estudiando el inglês hace muchos años, creo que case 8 años en la escuela, nunca estudié en escuela particular de idiomas como por ejemplo el Wizard, CCAA u otros cursos de idiomas, pero sino en mi casa estudiando el la computadora oyendo películas, también periódicos en la internet. Y también claro, creo que cuando alguien le gusta estudiar algo, por ejemplo, idiomas diferentes no hay barreras ¿verdad?

Por ejemplo, a mi me encanta estudiar el inglês, el español el alemán, el russo solo hay muchas dificuldades para quien no tiene por ejemplo, como viajar para un otro país para estudiar el idioma o tampoco como comprar libros por el precio que aca em Brasil es un poco caro comprar libros ¿verdad? Pero hay siempre otras maneras de estudiar como por ejemplo estoy haciendo ahora, yo estudio el español, el inglês y el alemán por la internet. Yo escucho musicas, veo vídeos en el youtube, y también películas en el idioma que estoy estudiando.

Bueno, yo quiero claro estudiar más y más otros idiomas como por ejemplo el russo, está siendo un poco difícil para mi, porque es algo totalmiente distinto de todo que he empezado a estudiar, pero estoy seguro de que cuando empezamos a estudiar más de trés o dos idiomas el próximo idioma empeza a ser um poco más fácil, ¿si? Creo que es como siempre digo, a mis amigos, que estudiar un idioma es algo como ir al gimnasio para hacer ejercicios físicos. A principio tienes un poco de dificuldade, siente dolor en el cuerpo, ¿si? Es el mismo con los idiomas. Cuando empezas a estudiar un nuevo idioma tu sientes un poco de dificuldade siente un poco de ‘desconforto’ al hablar el idioma, porque tu no tienes certeza se lo estas hablando correctamiente o se, por ejemplo cuando quieres expressar algo en outro idioma que no puedes, siente un poco de ‘desconfuerto’  ¿verdad? Entonces esto siempre se pasa, pero en cambio cuando estudias más de uno, más de dos se empeza a ser un poco más fácil.

Я понимаю по-русский :) - First words

Confesso ainda não ter dito a ninguém que estou estudando um pouco de Russo, porque vão me olhar torto ou até mesmo rir de mim. Posso até imaginar algumas pessoas dizendo: "E para quê você quer aprender Russo se não vai usar este idioma em nenhum lugar por aqui?"

Bem, quando decido em estudar um idioma nem penso por esse lado, mas na beleza que é poder entender outra pessoa falando em um idioma diferente do seu.

Comecei a ver Russo depois de escutar algumas canções neste idioma. Isso quase sempre acontece comigo, primeiro escuto uma música no idioma X, e logo tenho vontade de aprendê-lo. 

How to start?

Before we start learning a new language for me it is important to select the right reference books to guide us throughout our learning process. And why is that? Since early I heard about the four cases that threat any student of German, which are Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive. Well, I am not going to talk about them right now, because I am not the right person to do that, and besides I know almost nothing about them so far. But any way, I know that they exist and that they will determine which ending the nouns and articles will have. For example, in one case we have to use the article Der, while in another case we have to use Den. The situation may become even more nightmarish when the word order enters the equation.

So, picking up a good grammar book will certainly give us a good piece of advice, right? However, let us not burn the candle at both ends trying to remember endless grammar rules that bores us to death. My main goal by learning German, as I am quite sure that is also your goal, is to communicate in the language, right? So, the books I am about to show you will certainly come in handy.

My German learnig Process

Are you learning German? Are you learning English? Well, if your answers were ‘yes’ for both questions, then you came to the right place, because from this moment on I will keep writing posts about my experiences as a foreigner language learner. Basically what I am going to do is write down what I am doing to improve my German skills.

So, I have been studying English as a second language for over seven years now, though unfortunately I could never afford myself to study English at a private school, even though I managed to find good ways to improve it throughout my learning process. As I have taught myself how to speak English, Spanish and German (I am still a beginner at this one), I decided to show you what I am doing at the moment to start this new language that for many is considered to be one of the toughest languages one can study. So, this blog is not intended to teach you German, but rather to show you how I am learning the language.

Okay, this is how it is going to work. I will start from the basics, which is not much different from the level I am, telling you what was my major problem at that point, (in terms of grammar, writing and pronunciation), what I found interesting about that part and so on. As I told you, this blog it not intended to teach German, so if you are also learning the language and would like to share some information with me I will be flattered to hear from you, so if you have anything to tell me, leave a comment. Hope you like this idea and see you soon.
